Tailored Tours gave our group of 5 a great tour. The guide was so knowledgeable and engaging. We loved his organization of our time in arranging all the sites we wanted to see. It makes such a difference to have an experienced person to organize ticket admissions. Also the van was comfortable and very convenient to have.

Our family of 3 adults was in St. Petersburg for just one day on a cruise stop. We had read about Timofey in the Rick Steves guidebook for Northern European Cruise ports, and as we have always had good luck with Rick’s suggested guides, we reached out a couple months ahead. From the very start, Timofey was a joy to work with. His communication was quick, thorough, and very accommodating. He gave us a full proposal for how to spend the day and we were good to go. Every request was met with “of course I can help you with that!” All visas were handled ahead of time, with no extra work on our part, and all fees included in the final price.

On the actual day, Timofey texted while were still in the terminal, so we had no worries that we would be met. He was waiting for us with a wonderful driver and very comfortable van, and off we went for what turned out to be the highlight of our whole two week trip! We loved every minute, and boy did Timofey make the most of those minutes! I was so impressed by how much he managed to fit into our short time in his beautiful city. Timofey was a college history professor, and we really appreciated the historical context he gave to our tour. With a perfectly planned day, and a wonderful driver who never kept us waiting, we were able to see so much without ever feeling rushed or stressed. We felt Timofey was very in tune with our interests, expounding on topics that intrigued us, and at one point suggesting we move on when we began to get a little tired and overwhelmed in the Hermitage. His sensitivity allowed us to really enjoy what we did see, while preventing it from all becoming a blur. We were also grateful for the personal stories and insights he shared to help us gain a better understanding of the changes in Russia over the past few decades.

We were delivered back to our ship right on time – a true feat of planning given St. Petersburg traffic. That evening, it became clear that we had enjoyed a far broader experience than our fellow cruisers, who may have toured one or two of the places we saw, but not all that we managed to see in a day. All-in-all a perfect experience and we only hope we can go back and tour with Timofey again!
