This two-days’ moderate tour of St. Petersburg includes Peterhof Fountain Parks, the Hermitage, the Church of Our Savior on the Spilled Blood, St. Isaac's Cathedral, the Kazan Cathedral, the Faberge Museum. It is designed to familiarize you with the history of Russia and beautiful sights of St. Petersburg in a peaceful, calm way. You will not miss anything: instead, you will get the creme-de-la-creme. Smell the blossom of linden trees near gilded fountains of Peterhof, enjoy the old masters in the stately rooms of the Winter palace. You will also have a stroll down the Nevsky Prospect, the city's central avenue, be thrilled by the craftsmanship of Faberge eggs at the Faberge museum. Led by a local historian, the tour gives a general overview of St. Petersburg and its history combined with a special focus on St. Petersburg must-visit attractions. It is ideal for first-time visitors.
Joined by an expert in art history at your hotel, we’ll start our tour with a drive to Peterhof Fountains. Considered perhaps the greatest fountain complex in Russia, Peterhof Park leaves nobody unimpressed. There you will see the Samson Fountain and the Grand Cascade of fountains. Here we’ll get a brief introduction to the history of the royal palaces architecture.
After lunch we’ll head to the Catherine Palace in Tsarskoye Selo. Once in the Catherine Palace, rather than racing through the corridors to follow the crowd, our expert guide will help you skip-the-line and see the Amber Room with no haste. We’ll trace a route through the Catherine Palace ball rooms and spend considerable time observing the selected pieces of art, contextualizing their place in history.
The second day of the tour is dedicated to the Hermitage Museum. Benefit from the early access to the museum and take a deeper overview of the world-famous masterpieces by Leonardo Da Vinci and Raphael. As we stroll, we’ll appreciate the exquisite techniques introduced by Renaissance artists. Our last stop will take us to St. Isaac’s Cathedral (inside visit) and Peter & Paul Fortress and Cathedral (inside visit). Learn more about the cradle of St. Petersburg and visit the Romanovs burial vaults.
By the end of the tour, we’ll safely drive you back to the hotel.

We were entirely delighted with every aspect of our 2 day Moderate Tour with ‘Tailored Tours of St. Petersburg.’
Nikita was extremely gracious and patient with numerous email requests to customize our tour in St. Petersburg.
We were greeted by our delightful guide Maria right off our ship. She was awesome! She was very well informed at every stop we made, had a great sense of humour, was entirely professional, spoke clear, fluent English and organized our time brilliantly. We all felt we had made a friend and lucked out with such a terrific guide. Our driver Max was also fantastic, very capable, efficient and a very nice friendly guy. The bonus of booking with ‘Tailored Tours’ is that you are getting a small group tour, attention to every detail requested all for the same cost of a large, inflexible bus tours. You truly need to look no further as this company is excellent and exceeded our expectations.
