This is an alternative to the City Highlights Tour by car. On this tour, you can experience the life of the city center while walking around the magnificent palaces and streets which Emperors and Empresses once resided with your art historian guide.
We will start from the Square of Arts and walk along the famous Nevsky Prospect to the monument of Catherine the Great.
Then, we will continue to Michael’s Castle where the unloved son of Catherine, Paul, lived and was murdered.
We will stroll on to the Church of the Savior on the Spilled Blood and continue our scenic walk along the Moika River past the Alexander Pushkin Memorial Museum to the Palace Square, the Winter Palace, and Alexander Column.
Exiting from the square, we’ll head to the grandeur of St. Isaac’s Cathedral and end our tour with the “Bronze Horseman” (the monument to Peter the Great) observation.
By the end of the tour you will have a better understanding of the city, the history of the Romanov family and some practical tips to use for the rest of our stay in St. Petersburg.

We scheduled A custom tour in Saint Petersburg. We Picked the sites that we wanted to visit. Tailored Tours of St Petersburg arranged everything. Tim is exceptionally knowledgeable about the sites in Saint Petersburg and overall history of Russia. He is also an art expert which enabled him to tell us all about the art in the Hermitage. We were on a cruise ship which limited our time in St Petersburg but we saw as much as we could in 8 hours. I would strongly would suggest using this tour for it an efficient custom visit to the places that you want to see in Saint Petersburg
